Sara Ekenger
Sara was awarded the Puppet Centre Trust/Arts Council bursary in 2006 and has since made a range of automatons and kinetic machines that will be exhibited in 2008. She has worked as a freelance design facilitator for the Richmond Theatre's education department on various projects. She is a founder member of Unpacked. In June 2006 Sara had a baby daughter and while on maternity leave she acted as a creative consultant, designer and company secretary for Unpacked. Previous work includes: puppet making and performing in; The Fourth Violin From the Left and Jumping Mouse, for Unpacked; Bluebeard's Wives for Spid Theatre Company; puppeteering on Funky Munky music video clips for the mobile phone company Jamster; puppet consultancy for dANTE OR dIE; and puppetry workshops for The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA). She also has an MA in Design Management and has taught at both De Montfort University and Brunel University. Sara designs puppets and costumes on commission under the name EekNGrr. She has recently made a Labrador puppet for Jack's Quest by the Company of Angels.
